New to Total Tanning? Here’s what to expect on your first trip to see us!

If you’re new to Total Tanning, or even just new to tanning altogether, we thought we’d give you an idea of what to expect on your first trip in to one of our salons.

The first step is to make sure you can find us! We’ve got salons in the hearts of Newport and Ryde, you can head to each stores page to find its full address and opening hours.

Registering as a top-tanner!

When you arrive you’ll speak to one of our friendly team who’ll take a few details from you, including your name, email address, and a contact number. If you’re lucky enough to look under 25 (you lucky thing) we’ll also ask you for some photo ID such as a passport or driving license so we can verify you’re over 18.

After we’ve done that, we’ll ask you to read our customer tanning agreement and sign it digitally using our signature pad – we’ll also ask you to tap our fingerprint reader so you can sign in easily on your next visit!

A bit about signatures and fingerprints – our system securely encrypts your fingerprint, and neither we nor our software supplier can see them. They’re used solely to allow you to sign in to our stores and keep your client card – and any minutes you’ve purchased – secure. All your personal details are kept safe in compliance with the necessary regulations.

Choosing your experience

Once you’ve registered, you’ll be able to select your service. We have both standing and lie down sunbeds available for use. If you’re not sure which you’d prefer to use just ask our staff who’ll be happy to guide and advise you.

Our staff will also ask about your tanning history to allow them to give you some guidance on the length of session you should select.

We offer both bulk-buy and pay as you go options for payment, so it’s always worth working out how much you could save by buying a sunbed card! You can see our prices here.

Get prepared

We want all our customers to have the best experience and get the best results. There’s a few top tips we like to offer everyone who comes into Total Tanning:

• Always use a tanning cream. We’ve got plenty for sale in store at a range of prices and we can advise you on which type might suit you best.
• Always use the provided eye protection. UV light can harm your eyesight and closing your eyes is not enough! We offer free eye protection to all customers, and reusable protections is available to buy.
• Love your tunes? Get a playlist at the ready on your phone! You can connect it via bluetooth to all of our sunbeds and chill to your favourite beats. If you need help, just ask our staff who’ll be happy to help (and probably sign along too… we promise we tried to stop them!).
